Glenallachie 2015 Sinteis Oloroso 9 Year Old

A delightful single malt from speyside producer, Glenallachie Distillery. It is a marriage of spirit from two different cask types, first-fill Pedro Ximinez sherry puncheons and Chinquapin American oak. The result is a decadent dram chock full of dark fruit, spice and chocolate notes. Presented at cask strength with no added colour and non-chill filtered.

This limited edition release from Glenallachie is the first in their Sinteis Series. Sinteis means synthesis in Gaelic, and this series is a showcase of Glenallachie's reknowned cask management.

On the nose you get liquorice, butterscotch and grilled honeycomb, with candied orchard fruits, cocoa and treacle tart. The taste brings together ginger, butterscotch and candied lemon slices, followed by fig jam, blackberries and molasses, with cinnamon spice and rich cocoa on the finish.
