MacNair's Peated Exploration Rum
Pot Distilled Clarendon Jamaica rum, initially aged in American and French oak, before finishing in casks that previously held peated GlenAllachie Speyside Single Malt. A dram with pretty unusual cask make up, first aged in rye casks, Rioja red wine and new oak, these peated casks. Adding a nice dash of smoke to this fruity rum.
The nose has lashings of pineapple, smoked plantains and cinnamon, with vanilla, butterscotch and smoked Caribbean jerky and the palate bursts with ripe bananas, grapefruit and butterscotch, with mango, sugar cane, cocoa, ginger and vanilla.
